MEXT Vacant School Facility Utilization Promotion ("Everyone's Vacant School" Project)

Primary source set for the vacant school utilization project promoted by MEXT. Through the national vacant school information platform "Everyone's Vacant School," it aggregates and publishes lists of schools seeking utilization, case collections, subsidy programs, and matching event information. Between fiscal years 2002 and 2020, 8,580 schools were closed nationwide, of which 7,398 (86.2%) remain as buildings and 76% of those are already in use. Serves as a primary information source for vacant school × private sector utilization.

Primary source set for the "Comprehensive Management Plan for Public Facilities and Infrastructure" that MIC has requested all 1,700+ municipalities nationwide to formulate. Starting from the April 2014 planning request (MIC administrative vice-minister notice), it has accumulated revisions through February 2018, January 2021, and October 2023 revision notices. Aggregates the second-period (fiscal 2024-2030) revision policy, linkage with individual facility plans, Q&A, and disclosure status list.
